www.hgvlgvtraining.co.uk can today confirm that Blackwater HGV, LGV Specialist and Highway LGV have gone into liquidation.
Reliable sources in industry have informed us all 3 training companies were in fact the same organisation. It has not been possible to contact Blackwater HGV, LGV Specialist or Highway LGV for a comment as all contact numbers on their websites has been removed.
All 3 websites are still up and running with no mention of them going into receivership. This is yet another blow to many wannabe HGV drivers who have parted with their hard earned money. No doubt some local training providers were also owed money which they are now very unlikely to get.
All 3 websites give the overwhelming impression they are national training and recruitment specialists. Nothing could be further from the truth. The reality is they were a sales and marketing company who owned no vehicles and employed no instructors. .
Customers who have paid via credit (or VISA debit) card are advised to contact their relevant card issuer. We also recommend you contact Tower Hamlet Trading Standards Officers on 0207 364 5008.
In the last 6 months we have seen 1st Class Trucking and Network HGV go the same way as Blackwater HGV, LGV Specialist and Highway LGV. All have been discovered to be rogue HGV training brokers.
It is an absolute disgrace that companies like these have been able to operate and get away with it. Trading Standards try their best to prosecute but this is normally after the event (scam) has taken place. By the time Trading Standard catch up with them, these rogue traders have normally moved on and set up new “national HGV” training website pedaling the same lies and taking advantage of people who are just trying to improve their careers.
It is a poor advertisement for the HGV training industry, which in most part is a professional and reputable industry. The local training providers we promote on our website are fed up to the back teeth with these scam artists. More regulation and better enforcement may help deter these companies setting up again yet government has made it clear no new laws will be implemented in the foreseeable future.
If you are considering a career as an LGV driver please do not let this post put you off. There are many local, reputable training providers around the UK who will help you attain your goals.
