We would like to take this opportunity to say well done to Jim Mair Training Limited on getting a big thumps up from the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT.)
This Kilmarnock based commercial transport training provider was given a clean bill of health following a recent Driver CPC audit. The audit took place on 15th Jan and was delivered at Jim Mairs’ own training centre. The course entitled “Drivers Safety Course” was attended by 12 HGV drivers).

The training materials were good and included power point, videos and hand outs. The trainer is experienced with both coaches and lorries. He was knowledgeable and confident. He introduced himself to the group and then got the drivers to introduce themselves. The trainer took time to ensure the drivers were ready before moving on with the presentation. The training environment was good and was free from interruptions during my observation. Tea, coffee and lunch were provided.
Overall a very good example of Driver CPC Periodic Training was observed.

Attaining and maintaining JAUPT centre approval to deliver periodic Driver CPC training is no easy task. Approved training centres are subject to regular announced and unannounced inspections to ensure they adhere to DSA/JAUPT terms and conditions of business.
