Truckersworld is a website that promotes the interests of the professional HGV driver on a national basis. Its slogan is “Professional Drivers Uniting”.
They (Truckersworld) are dedicated to ensuring equal and fair rights for the 300,000 plus UK, HGV drivers.
The implementation of Driver CPC is a big bone of contention within the commercial transport industry. This is because Driver CPC affects just about every lorry driver in the UK.
Truckersworld has, over recent years been vocal about the problems associated with Driver CPC. Poor and not properly thought through legislation has resulted in (certain cases) substandard training which is to the detriment of the driver. There are some out there who are disillusioned with Driver CPC: what it means and has to offer.
We here at www.hgvlgvtraining.co.uk believe that Driver CPC does need improving. We also think that since its implementation some improvements have already been made. For example JAUPT has in recent months ramped up the number of audits carried out on approved Driver CPC training centres. Audits are carried out on every approved training centre to ensure they are adhering to JAUPT terms and conditions of business.
We still think more needs to be done but understand this is (to a degree) work in progress. Nevertheless Truckersworld is right to raise concerns and gauge industry concerns. As a result Truckersworld are inviting people to sign their online e-petition.
They need 100,000 signatures to get Driver CPC debated by parliament. Not only do Truckersworld want your signature they also want to hear your comments and views. You can add any comments by completing their online survey. Please click here to complete.

The Request for a DCPC Review
We are now moving towards the deadline of September 2014 when all drivers in the UK wanting to drive HGVs for a living will require a DCPC. For a few years, we have read articles in various trucking media from all and sundry on their opinions on the CPC. We have all seen the many adverts from training Companies offering their services. Those of us that use internet trucking forums have also seen many differing threads on this hot topic.
For many of us there is still much debate, uncertainty and indecision on whether the current implementation is right or wrong, will it actually be of any benefit us as drivers or our employers in this Industry, will it make us better drivers or improve standards in safety, If as drivers we have to pay for something, then we do expect to get something in return or the cost is seen as just a waste of our hard earned.
Having tried in vain for many a year to try and get this highlighted and talked about by those in high office to take on your concerns and issues over the current implementation has fallen on mostly deaf or un-concerned ears and little interest on even looking at change to make it more acceptable or of better benefit to us as the drivers who have to pay for it all.
In 2014 there is a very high risk that our profession will lose many of the long term highly experienced drivers, whether it be due to age, part time, unable to afford it or simply calling it a day in this profession and hanging up their keys for the last time.
The reason for this could be down to many factors that someone in high office should be looking at and considering a change of the implementation before it is too late and the new and young generation of drivers lose the much needed help of those experienced truckers.
Reading many of the opinions from drivers there is a massive majority that consider good training is always beneficial and very few are actually against it in general, but many are unsure that the way the DCPC has been implemented will actually achieve the training that is a requirement to improve our careers or make the UK road network safer for all other road users.
If you are still undecided on whether to carry out this training, or have already commenced it and found fault then maybe you like many others consider it needs a review and our opinions taking into consideration to make it more acceptable and worthy of our hard earned wages.
We would like to invite you to sign an online e-petition that if enough sign could start the first process towards a full review. This seems to be the only course we can take so that as drivers we can be consulted and if enough do sign it might demonstrate along with the very poor numbers taking the training that not everything is right with the current implementation.
Of course it is no good simply signing an e-petition if you cannot tell us why you have signed it and with this in consideration we have also produced a form for you to write in your own opinions and this will be used in conjunction with the petition to provide a league of concerns and issues. By you the drivers that this cpc is aimed at
The e-petition can be signed online by any internet connection on your phone or laptop by clicking here.
Then if you wish to inform us the reason you signed you can do so by clicking clicking here.
If you have read this article and ignore this request then the current implementation of the DCPC will be with you for the rest of your career without any change, other than possibly price rises in the training and more modules that seem pointless and unacceptable.
We need 100,000 signatures and then just maybe we can receive a review and put forward the issues for change so that when you have to pay for the training of the DCPC you will actually feel a benefit and move towards the much needed respect as a Professional Driver in the UK.
No one likes to waste money, no one wants to take training that is inappropriate or poorly delivered, no one wants to waste 35 hours every five years with no benefits.
You can sign the e-petition and hope for change or accept it and live with it.
The future is in your hands…
